Life has a way to throw us curve balls, and this year, it definitely did. After a LONG search for the right place for me to play volleyball, I selected Houston Baptist. Coach Trent Herman is an amazing guy, and I knew he was going to be the right coach for me! However, after a month in Houston for summer workouts and the beginning of two-a days, I felt the need to move home to Arlington, Texas. My grandfather has been a cancer patient for a long time, and when I signed to go to Houston, he was doing well enough that he was going to be able to go to some of my games. Unfortunately, his health has not stayed at that level, and he was constantly asking me to return home to Arlington to go to school.
As the month in Houston went on, I kept feeling led to move back home to be close to my granddad. He has been like my father for my whole life, and knowing that he was really wanting me there was not helping me focus on volleyball. Coach Herman was fantastic with me and very understanding. I had grown to really love the coaches and the players at HBU. Leaving was not an easy decision, but it still feels like the right one.

Now, I am enrolled full-time at UT Arlington. I am enjoying the school, but I am missing volleyball.
Now, I am on a search to see if there is a fit for me close by so that I can still be in close contact with my grandfather.
